DYNAMIC LIFE AND AUTO INSURANCE : What if the life insurance policy doesn't cover end of life costs?

Life insurance policies should be there so that if something happens to you, your family members do not have to worry about paying for your medical bills or final costs. They should also not have to worry about taking care of any other bills that you happen to leave behind. However, what if you are the one who is dealing with the loss of someone, and that person's life insurance didn't happen to cover all of their final costs? If you are dealing with a spouse or a parent who has died, and their life insurance policies did not cover all of their final costs, you might feel like you don't have any options. However, there are some things that you can do.

First of all, double check. You need to request a copy of the person's life insurance and then a copy of what was paid out. Chances are that the life insurance company did pay out what they were supposed to, but you never know if that is going to be the case or not. It could be that there was a mistake made and the money is still waiting to be claimed. It is always a good idea to check first so that you know for sure you have not gotten enough money.

The next thing that you need to do is find a lawyer who can help you sort out what you are legally responsible for. There are many different cases of bills that you will need to pay for a loved one that has died, but there are also cases in which you do not need to pay that money. The bill collectors are not the people to talk to, because they will tell you that you are responsible for everything. Therefore, you want to talk to a lawyer so that you are completely aware of which bills you are responsible for, and which ones you have no legal obligation to pay.

Once you know what you are responsible for, you have several options. The first is to apply for government assistance for the various bills or for parts of them. There are several programs that you can take advantage of that might be able to help you out with some of the bills that you are responsible for.

The last thing that you can do is talk to each of the bill collectors and companies individually. Some of them will have their own policies that will help you settle the debts. Many times they will be able to clear the debt or take most of it away. Companies are very good about taking care of these types of things for the most part. If they cannot clear the debt for you, the companies will be able to set up payment plans that you can use so that paying back the bills will not be something that you have to worry about doing all at once. This should make things slightly lighter for you to have to deal with.
